5 Things

5 Things I'm loving right now...

1 Costa Coffee ... Always used to be a big fan of Cafe Nero and Starbucks but these days its Costa!
2 Teaching myself to crochet ...Loving the new magazine "How to crochet" and teaching myself something completely new.
3 "So you think you can dance" ...I thought Saturday evening would never be the same once X Factor finished its last series but I'm really into this new programme on BBC1 on Saturdays!
4 Scarves ...I have absolutely loads, all different colours and styles
5 Scrapbooking ... I have loads of Christmas photos and snowy pictures that I'm enjoying working with.

I thought it would be fun to blog about my current interests as its does change. If I blog my 5 things each month I can look back and see how it changes. I also want to make some layouts about me and my interests/personality. I hardly ever scrap photos of me but as I am turning 40 this year I thought some layouts and journalling about my 30s would be good to do.

What 5 things are you loving right now?

Wishing all bloggers a great weekend!

Here is day 7 ~ To Do List

And day 8 ~ Sights Of Christmas

And 9th December ~ Angel....As this was the day of Hannah's school play, I decided to journal about this instead of following Shimelle's prompt.

Now just 10th-31st December left to do!!! lol!
I hope those of you with more snow are okay, we have just had rain and sleet but no snow! Roll on the summer!

Some cards!

At last I have some cards to share with you. I have been mainly working on my Christmas Journal lately so not had much time for card making but I have managed a few very simple cards this week. The first one is using one of my favourite stamps, "Emma Flower" from Little Claire which has been coloured with promarkers. The background paper is from a My Minds Eye paper pack . I used my Martha stewart zig zag border punch and matted it onto red card.

The next two are both stamped with butterfly stamps from a Hero arts clear stamp set, not sure of its exact name. On the blue card I have stamped and heat embossed with white embossing powder, I have used scallop circle nestabilities and Woodware inverted corner punch. Greeting from a Hunky Dory greetings sheet, ribbon and some gems to finish. The last card is using the same Hero Arts Stamp set, this time stamped with lime green ink, and the edges inked to match. The background is lime green bazzill card and a piece of embossed patterned paper from the My Minds Eye Paper pack torn along one edge, ribbon and gems to finish.
3 very simple cards!
The weather!! I was thinking today how its funny that since we have had the snow and ice we seem to do nothing but talk about it. Everyone mentions it ... my neighbours, parents at school, customers in the shop, family, friends, people on facebook, my Avon lady, the lady in the post office queue, the sainsburys cashier etc.....thankfully the snow and ice that has been laying on the ground for what seems like ages has now thawed...but we now have rain and cold winds!!
Right, must clear the kitchen, then its bed for me, its my day off tomorrow and really hope to get a few more pages of my Christmas Journal done.

It Snowed!

We finally got some snow down here!!

After hearing and reading about parts of the country all snowed in and seeing loads of snow pics on blogs and facebook, we finally got some snow of our own yesterday. I live quite close to the beach and we hardly ever get snow and even when it does snow it rarely settles (apparently something to do with the salt in the sea air!)

We had a lovely walk home from school, I usually collect her by car but I thought it would be fun to walk in the snow. It took us ages but H enjoyed scooping up handfuls of snow along the way! lol!

A quick change out of her uniform and she headed straight outside to play in the garden!

Has anyone seen the new magazine that's just come out? I bought the "The Art of Crochet" yesterday as I have been wanting to learn how to crochet for a while. It was 99p and you get a magazine full of step by step instructions, a hook, 2 balls of wool and an instruction DVD. I think the next issues are going to cost more but the first issue is well worth the money. I can't wait to get started!

Right, I'm off to make a hot cup of coffee , turn the heating up and spend the morning crafting!

Hope everyone is keeping warm!
