Used my New Stamp

Well, I couldn't wait to use my new Clarity stamp that I got yesterday, so here's my first card that I've made using it. Its not the best photo as there's a glare across it.

Supplies: Clarity stamp, K & Co paper, bazzill card, watercolour pencils, baubles

Very restrained....

I was very restrained and only got these at the Papercraft Show I went to at Ringwood yesterday. It was a really good show! There was so much there I could have easily bought but I had to stop myself from spending any more as pennies are tight at the mo and with Christmas fast approaching I had to be good. Pleased with what I did get though!
Did anyone else go to the show?

Tagged!!

I've been tagged, first time for me!! I was tagged by Storm

"Here are the rules which you must abide by if you are tagged.

1. Link to your tagger and post these rules.

2. Share 7 facts about yourself: some random, some weird.

3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post and list their names (linking to them).

4. Let them know they've been tagged by leaving a comment at their blogs."

Okay, the 7 facts are:

1 I'm only 4 ft 11" tall, can manage 5 foot with heels on!!

2 I don't like really cold ice cream, I put it in the microwave for a few seconds to soften it!!

3 I qualified as a baton twirling trainer/judge in my late teens and ran my own troupe of twirlers for many years, although "retired" about 7 years ago.

4 I love the X Factor

5 I'm going to see Joseph and his amazing technicolour dream coat in London in 2 weeks time!!

6 I've been to Cyprus on holiday twice and would love to go again

7 I prefer dark chocolate to milk.

I'm not tagging another 7 people as everyone I know and everyone's blog I look at seems to have done this already.

Yippeee, look what has just arrived...

.....My new Bellas and Baubles!!
Can't wait to play with them!

Some cards...

Managed a few cards this week...

I got the bear stamp last weekend and this is my first card using him, I'm quite pleased with him but want to try doing him in some different colours.

Supplies: Hobby Arts Stamp, paper pieced scraf and presents, watercolour pencils, Christmas red paper, peel off borders.

I'm not normally a fan of using peel offs for the main part of the card but I thought this reindeer and sleigh raised up from the card work quite well.

Supplies: Peel off, acetate, Christmas paper and cardstock from stash, stones.

So excited...

I've just bought myself a present, well it is my birthday next Saturday! I've just ordered 3 Bellas and some baubles from here and now I can hardly wait for them to arrive, I've wanted some for ages.

Been Busy

I managed to have a crafting morning yesterday whilst Hannah was at school. I've finally finished a layout I've been doing. I've only just got into scrapbooking and this is the 3rd LO I've done. I'm not very good yet, but hopefully as I do more I'll get the hang of it.

Also did another christmas card with this cute Christmas angel stamp. I really need to do some more christmas cards.

Supplies: LO-Melissa Frances paper, glitter letters, brads (all stash) Card-Angel stamp coloured with marvys, glitter on wings, bazzill card, xmas paper (last years) and papermania gems

First Christmas Card

I've made my 1st Christmas Card today!

There's a few blogs by some very talented cardmakers that I regularly visit for inspiration. One of them, Kitty is having a blog candy giveaway to celebrate getting 5000 hits and I thought I'd have a go. Full details are here but briefly you have to include a stamp, patterned paper, blooms/flowers and jewels.

Its a bit of a lst minute entry as the comp closes in about 2 1/2 hours!!

Card: 3 individual clear snowmen stamps used together, coloured with marvys, Basic Grey paper, Bazzill card, green cardstock, stickles for snow, jewels for buttons/flower centre/greeting greeting done on PC, , red & white flowers (from stash!)

No Cards!

I've not made any cards this weekend. Well, not counting the 20 christening invitations I've been trying to get finished for my friend.

Planning to do some cards tomorrow morning whilst Hannah is at school. There's a blog candy giveaway on Kitty's blog and I want to make a card to enter. Never done a Blog challenge or giveaway before but thought it would be fun to have a go!

So proud

Well, we got through the 1st week of school without any major trauma, just a few tears on the 2nd morning. It seems very strange without Hannah in the mornings and its amazing how many times I check the time to make sure I'm not going to be late for the 12.15 school run!!

Here's a pic of Hannah in her uniform on her 1st day!

BIG School tomorrow

My little girl, Hannah goes to BIG School all on her own tomorrow!! We went for an hour last Thursday & Friday but I could stay with her but tomorrow morning I have to drop her off at 9am and go back to collect her at 12.15. Hope she will be okay. I'm nervous for her but she is just really excited!

Hope to have a craft morning to take my mind off worrying about her!

Its been a while...

I've had a hectic few weeks, what with Hannah's birthday (can't believe she's now 4 years old!), a holiday and my nephew surprising us all and arriving into the world 2 weeks early! He's gorgeous, I had forgotten how tiny newborns are!

With all this going on its been a while since I've blogged or made any cards or done anything crafty. But today I made these 3 cards. Will get them onto
my website later or tomorrow.
I got some lovely papers yesterday and plan to start on a scrapbook page tonight.

Birthday Invitations

We were out in the garden today enjoying the lovely sunshine we are having (about time I hear you say!) but after a couple of hours it was too hot for me so I came indoors to finish the invitations for Hannah's 4th Birthday Party. Very pink and girlie!!

A Bit Emotional...

...Today!!

It was Hannah's last day at nursery today, after 2 very enjoyable years there. She took in a card she had made for the teachers and choccies and pressies (2 Usborne Books for the nursery!) this morning. When I collected her at lunchtime there were lots of cuddles and goodbyes with her teachers and friends. Talk about a lump in my throat, it was another moment when I realise how quickly my little girl is growing up. Next step...Big School in September!

Not blogged for a few days, been busy with general housework and getting a few things ready for Hannah's 4th birthday in a couple of weeks. I'm making the party invitations myself, which should be finished later today.

Our First Sports Day

There are just so many 1sts where children are involved aren't there? From 1st smile, 1st tooth, 1st steps, 1st words..... Today was another 1st for us! Hannah's 1st Sports Day!
Hannah's nursery held a sports day (well, morning!) today and incorporated their annual leavers presentation into it. There were several races including "egg and spoon" and "beanbag on your head" which all the children took part in. Watching Hannah run up the sports hall as fast she could whilst balancing a beanbag on her head was a really proud Mummy moment.
There are 13 children leaving the nursery this year to start "Big School" in September and they were all presented with an Usborne Book! Hannah was very pleased with hers and has already told me "I will look after this book as its very special"! Sweet!

Friday, 27 July 2007

Well, now that I've started this blog, I'd better tell you a bit about me. I'm 36 and this is a pic of me with my daughter, Hannah who is 4 in a few weeks time (which reminds me I must make her party invitations this weekend). I am a work at home Mum, running a handmade card and stationery business or should I say juggling it, as like many Mums, with all the other demands on my time, its sometimes hard to find the time. The website is still in its early days but I'm getting there with it. The website link is http://www.sarahjaynedesigns.co.uk/ if you fancy a peek.

Welcome....

...to my Blog!

At last I've got around to setting up my blog. Well, everyone seems to have one these days and I'm never one to be left out of the fun!

Here, you can share my crazy life as a work from home Mum, card and stationery maker, novice (very!) scrapper (scrapbooking to those who didn't know!) and most importantly Mum to my nearly 4 years old daughter.
